Om Birla elected again

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Om Birla was elected the speaker of the house on Wednesday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved the motion in Lok Sabha to elect him.

The Opposition also moved the motion to elect Congress leader K Suresh as the Lok Sabha speaker however, it was discarded after the house adopted PM Modi’s motion after voice vote.

Speaking after the election of OM Birla, PM Modi said that speakers’ smile keeps the house happy. He complimented the speaker for getting elected for the second time.

He was led to the chair by PM Modi and the the LOP Rahul Gandhi to the Chair. Birla is an inspiration to the newly elected MPs stated the PM Modi.

This is the second consecutive term of Om Birla. Birla is the third-term MP from Rajasthan. He was elected by the voice vote in the parliament.

By allowing the opposition to speak you will be respecting the constitution said Rahul Gandhi the Congress MP. MP Akhilesh congratulated the new speaker. The 5 years experience will make all the difference to Birla he said.
