Michelle Obama, widely regarded as one of the most stylish first ladies, has been constantly critiqued for her sartorial choices. Speaking at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, she revealed how former President Barack Obama wore the same tuxedo (and shoes!) for two terms – eight years – of his presidency and no one noticed.
Putting the spotlight on the fashion industry’s sexist double standards, Michelle Obama said, “This is the unfair thing; You talk about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. No matter what we do, he puts on that same tux. People take pictures of the shoes I wear, the bracelets, the necklace. He wore the same tux for eight years, same shoes.”
People like Ramalinga Raju of Satyam and other head honchos of the companies have hundreds and dozens of shoes. But when it comes to the past President of America one will be surprised and no one watched or pointed it out so far.

“He was proud of it too; he’s like, “Mmm, I’m ready. I got ready in 10 minutes. How long did it take you?” and I’m like “Get out of here,” the former US first lady said.
Michelle Obama has said that the choice of clothes and fashions have always depended on “comfort level” they offer and not on “who” made them.
