NTR first part, Kathanayakudu could not attract the Nandamuri fans to the theatres. The public just ignored the NTR movie. That came as a shock to both the producers and the directors. Sai Korrapati lost about 8 to 10 crore in the movie apart from the distributor. Krish Jagarlamudi the director also took the distribution for Guntur at a whopping price if 8 crores. There was a huge loss in Guntur also.
Now there is no one to touch the NTR part two. There is no other go for Balakrishna the main producer to give it away free of cost for the release so that the producers and distributors would recover the losses. No one expected that the movie of a Legend that too a biopic would go down the history as a dud. That is the reason people say one cannot know the pulse of the audience when it comes to the movies. No one can give the formula for a hit movie. The taste of the audience also changes from time to time.
