This is the first major policy change that has been done by the Revanth Reddy Congress Government. There was a talk that TS just sounds like TRS and that could be the reasons the TG is being implemented.
The centre proposed the TG, but the BRS Government has implemented TS for the new state. T is Telang G is Gana.
TG replaces TS as State code in Telangana vehicle registration plates. A gazette notification to this effect published by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is enclosed herewith.
The registration number plates of vehicles in Telangana henceforth will bear the State code as TG replacing TS. As per the notification, the registration mark on vehicles for States and Union Territories, under serial number 29-A, TS stands amended as TG. This change aims to enhance regulatory clarity and effectiveness. The change comes into effect immediately.
