The New and amended excise rules in Delhi also allow independent restaurants, clubs and bars attached with hotels to serve liquor in open spaces such as terraces, balcony or courtyards.
At the same time, the Government has allowed Home delivery of liquor through mobile apps or websites will be permitted in the national capital under the amended excise rules governing the trade of alcohol in the city.
According to the Delhi Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2021, published in a gazette notification on Monday, holders of L-13 license will be allowed to deliver liquor to the doorstep of people.
The home delivery of the liquor bottles was going on for a long time. But now the licensed wine dealers will be able to deliver them to the doorstep.
People coming to the shops will be reduced considerably and the Traffic will come down. Liquor has been the main source of income for all the Governments in the country.
Apart from Liquor now the fuel sales are also bringing in revenues to the State Governments in a big way.
It looks like soon all the Governments will follow the online delivery of liquor to the doorsteps of the customers. But however there will be customers who would like to come to the bars and restaurants for the liquor.
There are customers who will have it in rooms attached to the wine shops.
