Boom Boom Dhoni confirmed he was not retiring from the Indian Premier League after Chennai Super Kings won their fifth title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Dhoni said the easy decision would have been to announce his retirement but he chose the tough call of returning to lead CSK in 2024.
MS Dhoni has been asked the retirement question since the 2019 IPL and on each occasion, he said he would come back to lead the Super Kings.
This year, fans lined up to pay their tributes to MS Dhoni at every venue and there was speculation over his future. Would MS Dhoni retire?
This is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love I have received all over. The easy thing would be to walk away from here, but the harder thing would be working hard for 9 months and try to play another IPL.
It would be a gift from me, won’t be easy on the body,” Dhoni told. He has around 7 months’ time and would play another match and then decide over the retirement.
