No two-wheelers on TTD roads

As a devotee safety measure, TTD has cancelled the plying of two-wheelers on Tirumala ghat roads from 6pm of September 21 to 6am of September 23 in view of the heavy turnout of pilgrims for Garuda Seva on September 22.

In order to facilitate the devotees TTD has made an extensive parking facility at old Alipiri Check Point for two-wheelers and extended RTC bus service to Tirumala from Tirupati.

TTD appealed the devotees not to donate either in cash or kind during the procession of umbrellas coming from Chennai which will Tirumala on September 21.

In a statement, the TTD said such donations will not reach TTD and that TTD is not connected with Umbrella campaigns.

During the Srivari Brahmotsavam season, several Hindu organisations bring umbrellas to Tirumala and present them to the Srivari temple ahead of the prestigious Garuda Vahana Seva. TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakar Reddyy endorsed Govinda Koti which the TTD board has recently announced the Govinda Nama Writing program to inculcate dedication and commitment for Sanatana Hindu Dharma among children and youth aged below 25 years.

Earlier he performed special pujas at the Govinda Koti Vinayaka statue which was erected at Vinayaka Sagar in Tirupati where he commenced the distribution of Govind Koti books. The huge statue of Ganesha has been designed in an appealing manner that the Ganapati Himself wrote the Govinda Koti.
