This lady is getting bold and beautiful by the day. Bollywood’s powerhouse of talent, Radhika Apte, who is eagerly waiting for the domestic release of her internationally acclaimed movie ‘Parched’, has revealed to an entertainment website, that she is not immune to casting couch.
The ‘Shor in the City’ actress said,” I think once an actor in South called me on my room phone and tried to get flirtatious and I just was so rude to him. I think he fought with me later on.”
Radhika, who, in the much hyped movie ‘Parched’, plays the role of a simple village girl caught between the need to conform to the norms of the society and her inner desire to gain complete freedom, is not someone who would succumb to pressure.
She added, “I got a call and they said ‘they’re doing this film in Bollywood and I want you to have a meeting with them. But would you be okay sleeping with that person?’ And I laughed! I said you’re so funny, you’re very funny and I said no I’m not. Ask him to go to hell.”
Casting couch is one of those sensitive topics Bollywood will never be comfortable talking about. But, the bold and beautiful Radhika Apte shows great courage to come out in the open and talk about how casting couch had happened to her and how she decided against it. She earlier talked about remunerations, differences between male and female stars and the way they treat the female stars.
