The supreme court and also some Government along with the GHMC had put some restrictions on the crackers but no one bothered to implement them. The crackers were sold without any restrictions and the people also enjoyed them all night. As expected the pollution levels have gone up like anything in Delhi and to some extent in Hyderabad also.
It would take some time for the smoke to get cleared in the cities. The GHMC said that the crackers should be used for just two hours but no one bothered about that. People just enjoyed the Diwali like the festival of lights and crackers.
The shopkeepers also lighted the crackers with big sounds and smokes during the midnight after the traditional pooja. When it comes to Delhi the pollution has gone up beyond the limits and the government must take up the issue seriously.
There is a thick smoke on the roads preventing the vision of the traffic, which could cause accidents. The metro train services were also disrupted due to the morning fog and pollution in Hyderabad.
Restrictions the height of Ganesh idols and restricting the timing for crackers is impossible. Both Ganesh immersion and crackers contribute to pollution. It is just for name sake that the Government announces some restrictions and the people ignore them.
