The Chief Secretary of the Telangana Government today said that there was no need of media at the state Secretariat which is now located in Boorgula Ramakrishna Bhavan near the Tankbund.
When questioned on the ban the Chief secretary explained that he was implementing the Government orders. But the media must also understand that there will no ministers in the secretariat.
Most of the Ministers are now located in different offices across the city. That means there was no need for media to get stationed at the secretariat. If they want to keep an eye on all the ministers, they have to run from pillar to post.
Home Minister is at DGP office. One Minister is at Ravindrabharati and other is at Aranya Bhavan. Only a few are at the state secretariat. When it comes to the CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, the CPRO has been sending detailed press notes from time to time.
There was no question of cover the CM office as it located in Pragathi Bhavan. Even Ministers are not allowed into Pragathi Bhavan without prior appointment.
In this case where is the scope for the media to work is the question. There is no other option but to attend the Press meets. The work for the media is definitely coming down.
