Now Congress party demands paper ballot in next elections and no EVMs. A political resolution to this effect was passed in the 84th plenary of the Congress party.
Dump the EVMs and India must go back to the paper ballot the Congress party demanded. Even people like Mayawati and Mamatha didi were demanding for the paper ballot. They charged that the EVMs were tampered for winning the election via electronic methods.
The Congress leaders were charged that the EVMs were rigged to see that the outcome was in favour of the BJP, while the people voted for some other party in various elections.The EVMs were not reflecting the reality they opined.
The election commission must revert back to the old paper ballot system where people can see whom they voted for.
But the ECI has stated that they were ready to provide a receipt after voting so that the voter can confirm as to whom he has voted and that there ends the matter and one need not go back to the ballot as being demanded by various political parties.
The Congress also went to the court earlier in this connection so that the voting pattern has to be checked which was being done with the EVMs.
