You might be surprised at the new restrictions being imposed on the police. This is not for police in General, but it is of the police who would on duty at Kumbmela to be starting from next January in Allahabad. They must not be local police if they are on duty at Kumbh Mela. They must be under 35 year of age and should be having good track record and conduct.
These are stipulations being put the UP police in general for the police who would be for the duty at Kumbmeal the mother of all the Melas it is reported. Interviews have already started for the said duty.
The interviews are going on a personal basis from person to person and the scrutiny is very tight it is reported. Some of them are avoiding the duty at Kumbmela as there are restrictions of all kinds. The police on duty would be monitored from the command control room and everything will be on the record.
That is the reason it is not easy to work as Mela police. They have to perform and they cannot avoid or deviate from the duty. They are under watch. lakhs of sadhus and public, in general, would be coming to Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela. Controlling the mob, controlling the stampede and to be vigilant on the unsocial elements is very important. One must be prepared to tackle the terror plots also.
