The BJP lost all the 4 states and its presence was negligible in Telangana.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh commenting on the results said that the Assembly elections are fought on the performance of the State Governments and the respective issue work there.
He indirectly said that the BJP performance at the national level should not be considered while looking at the results in the states.
But the results of the 5 states will definitely have a bearing on the next elections in 2019. The opposition is already ganging up to take on Modi the Prime Minister in the winter session of the parliament.
KCR is aiming at forming a grand alliance in the name of the federal front against the NDA. Chandrababu is already encouraging Mamatha to be the Prime Minister candidate.
Jashwant Sinha the senior politician certified that Mamata will be a good Prime Minister candidate.
The Congress is definitely ahead by winning the 3 states out of the 5 that went for polls.
