Nirmala Seetharaman the first lady to present India’s budget for the first time was in a pink saree with gold border. She was seen entering the parliament with the budget pack and not the traditional briefcase that usually the Finance Ministers carry while presenting the budget. She was carrying the budget like a file in Bahi Katha with the Lions emblem of the Government.
The finance Minister looked radiant and confident. She has shifted from a briefcase to Bahi Katha. The Budget is wrapped in the Bahi katha with the Government emblem of Lions and the dharmachakra.
She was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Finance. There was a cabinet meeting at about 10.20 just before the presentation of the budget in room number 62 of the parliament building. The cabinet approved the Budget before its presentation.
The vision is for 5 Trillion dollar economy. The Congress party said that the so-called 5 trillion dollar target is a distant dream.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the banking system is a matter of great concern. Pink is a popular colour in Telangana and the flag of the TRS is also in pink. Some lawmakers remarked that Nirmala was presenting the Union Budget wearing Telangana pink colour.
