This is pertaining to Union Minister Nirmala Seetharaman who was supervising the relief operations in Kerala. She toured the areas affected by the floods along with S Mahesh who is the local minister. After touring the flood-ravaged areas they participated in a press meet. Nirmala was addressing the media while Mahesh intervened and suggested that the media must complete the meet as they were having busy schedules.
Nirmala the Minister was peeved at the way the local Minister Mahesh intervened in the press meet and said that being a Union Minister she has to follow diktats of local Minister which was rather unfortunate.
The Minister after the media meet said that Nirmala Sitharaman was from Tamilnadu and married an Andhra man and she should have behaved in a responsible way he opined.
When the Media asked Seetharaman to speak loudly she said that the mikes were on and they can record whatever they want. There was some altercation between the local Minister Mahesh and the Union Minister Seetharaman here during the media meet. She found fault with Mahesh for directing the media to complete the meet when she was addressing. She also said that she would complete according to the schedule fixed by the local officials. She opined that it was not as if she was jumping the schedule.
