NIA raids in Telugu states

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), conducted raids on the houses of several civil rights activists, lawyers at several locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

While the search is going on in several locations including Hyderabad so far no arrests have been made. A case has been filed against Navya Printers and its owner Ramakrishna Reddy for printing a book on life and times of RK the popular Maoist leader who died recently.

POW Sandhya is the wife of Navya Ramakrishna. All the books printed in the memory of RK were seized by the police.

The searches by the police were related to the furthering the activities of the banned CPI (Maoist) in the guise of frontal organisations.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Vara Vara Rao the virasam leader who has undergone surgery is doing well in the Hospital. He was arrested in a conspiracy earlier which was alleged to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
