Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, will inaugurate Cherlapalli Railway Station’s second entry and the new railway terminal, the works on which were completed recently with a budget of around Rs.413 crore, on December 28.
Trains in the Hyderabad – Secunderabad region are mainly served by three main terminals of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda, and to meet the growing needs of the city, Lingampalli on the western part of the twin city was developed as another terminal station.Taking this forward, Cherlapalli Railway Station has been developed as another terminal station.
Cherlapalli is located on the eastern side of Hyderabad, an area experiencing rapid development, and is conveniently situated near the Outer Ring Road. Accordingly, the station was identified for developing as a terminal station, not only to reduce the congestion on other existing rail terminals in the twin city region but also to particularly serve passengers on the eastern part of the city.
