The Congress leaders who met in Delhi today to chalk out the future course of action have decide that they will elect a new President to the party by June this year.
They will have an election to elect the new President. There will be election for the CWC also it has been decided. The Congress party which is in ICU is trying to revive itself at the earliest.
Both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are not interested in taking up the responsibility of the President for the party anymore. They are not sure if they can revive the party win the elections in the near future.
At the same time the Congress party is also facing an internal rebellion from the old guards. The few Congress leaders who are sticking to the party have now got divided into two groups.
Rahul Gandhi was very voal today in the meeting and suggested that all the issues must to sorted out today by taking decisions. Now they have taken a decision to hold elections for the party president and also the CWC which is a good sign.
But how far they will be able to elect a new man out of the Gandhi family is the question. If it is Rahul or Priyanka, the party might go down further in the near future.
Even if they elect a new man, how far he will be in a position to take the decisions on his own is another issue. The Congress party as such is having a severe funds crunch issue.
There is no one to finance the party for the coming elections. That is the biggest issue.
