It looks like Sonia and Rahul may not take the burden of the Congress anymore. With people slowly going away from the Congress and the BJP making inroads into the Congress bastions it is time for the Gandhi family to pass on the baton to someone outside the Gandhi family.
In a media conclave organised by the India today, Sonia Gandhi said that earlier there was no other option but take the lead role to keep the party united. She was also clear that if there was someone from the party who could lead they are welcome to do so.
She said that in future someone could lead the party from outside the Gandhi family. In a democracy everything was possible she said.
Talking about dynasties she reeled about the family members Bush and Clintons who were in politics.
It is reported that people were just blaming the Gandhi family for losing the elections from time to time and now they think it would be right to give an opportunity to others in the name of elections and democracy.
Let’s hope the President post might go to a new man.
