President Ram Nath Kovind, on Saturday, appointed Banwarilal Purohit as the new Governor of Tamil Nadu. Ch. Vidyasagar Rao has held additional responsibility for Tamil Nadu till now.
Mr. Kovind appointed five new Governors on Saturday morning.
Mr. Purohit is presently the Governor of Assam.
The other Governors appointed by Kovind are Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Satya Pal Malik as the Governor of Bihar, Jagdish Mukhi as the Governor of Assam and Ganga Prasad as the Governor of Meghalaya.
