National Education Policy – 2020 will become a new compass for the new generation said Dr.Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, was the chief guest & keynote Speaker at the 41st Foundation Day Lecture at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad.

Dr.Pankaj Mittal, delivered a Lecture on “Road Map to Sustainable Higher Education” Dr. Mittal said that sustainable higher education is given priority in the current situation.

She said that this decision is going to be to provide quality education to the youth of the country to make the curriculum easier at the national level. She explained that the road map for quality higher education has been laid out very well in the new National Education Policy 2020.

However, to overcome the challenges, it is suggested to take steps to achieve financial self-sufficiency for the educational institutions. She explained that the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) system will be useful for students.

Academic Bank Credit is a Digital / Virtual / Online entity intended to function like a commercial bank, with bank credit availing of students as customers. Various services including credit verification and credit transfer are said to be offered.

Academic Bank Credit will be credited to the account of all students studying in any recognized institution of higher learning or those who wish to study as a freelancer even if they are not currently students. It was explained that top 100 universities of the world have sought permission to open their campuses in India and it will be realized soon.
