Naveen Patnaik was sworn in as the Odisha Chief Minister for the fifth time. Thousands of activists attended the swearing-in ceremony at the Bhubaneswar Exhibition Ground. Naveen has sworn along with 21 ministers. Naveen has brought 10 new people into the cabinet.

In the year 2000, he was elected as the Chief Minister of Odisha and continues to remain in the same rank. BJD has won 112 seats in the 147-member Odisha Legislative Assembly.

The BJP, which has won 23 seats, has become the main opposition party. This time, 44.7 percent of the votes polled in the Assembly polls have come to BJD. The BJP has 32.5 percent votes. The Congress got 16.12 percent of the votes
