The rains are playing havoc against the TTD Ghat Roads creating hardship for the pilgrims on a daily basis. One of the Ghat Roads which caved in has been closed for a major repair.
Officials and experts from the IIT have visited the road and have suggested the repairs to be done for the road. It will take another two to three days for the repairs and the road to be allowed for vehicular traffic.
The TTD chairman said that a technical team from IIT Delhi will visit the landslide spot this evening to examine the reasons behind the incident. “A major landslide occurred between turns 13 and15 of Tirumala’s second ghat road this morning. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported,” YV Subba Reddy said. He added that TTD engineering officials will restore the road in two to three days.
Earlier Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) earlier underlined that all routes to Tirumala, including roads and both footpaths – Alipiri and Srivari Mettu – that had been closed during the last two days in view of heavy rains, will remain closed too due to inclement weather conditions. rainwater has also inundated Vaikuntham queue complexes at a few places.
The four Mada streets also got waterlogged several times in the day. But the rainwater receded quickly every time, thanks to an advanced water draining system.
Now the TTD is trying its level best to see that both the Ghat roads are opened at the earliest. They want to provide all the amenities to the pilgrims and see that the darshan of the lord Balaji continues without any problems.
