Telangana State, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Department has taken up National Disease Control Vaccination Programme for Foot And Mouth Disease Control Programme from 1st February onwards.
The state is 1st state to in the country to launch the programme. In all (33) districts of Telangana state this programme is going on.
In this programme 84 Lakhs of Bovine population are to be vaccinated duly tagging all animal above (3) months age. The programme will be continued for a period of (30) days. The aim of the programme is to eradicate the disease from the state and to get the more opportunities for exports and increase of the value of the animals.
Dr.V. Lakshma Reddy, Director of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Telangana State, Hyderabad has visited surprisely the programme at a Goshala in Jiyaguda, Hyderabad.
He verified the maintenance of the cold chain in to be vaccination programme and registers / records maintained.So for (5664) Bovine are vaccinated and tagged in Hyderabad District.
He explained the management aspects of Livestock to Goshala staff and interacted with the founder of Goshala Sri Maharaji. There is 3200 bovine population in the Goshala.Director instructedall the Department staff to tag the animal first and then conduct FMD vaccination to all the animals. Then only upload the vaccination details in INAPH portal immediately soon after vaccination.
