National Defence delegates met the CS

A delegation of the National Defence College met the Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari at BRKR Bhavan today. Welcoming the delegation, Chief Secretary briefed them about the various initiatives taken by the state government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of the Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao.

Chief Secretary said that though Telangana is the youngest state in the country, it has chartered a growth story which has brought transformative change in various sectors. 24 hours uninterrupted power supply for industry and agriculture has been ensured even during the peak summer. Great strides have been made in agriculture which has resulted in exponential growth in agricultural production. GSDP of the State has increased from 5.05 Lakh Crore in 2014 to 13.27 Lakh Crore in 2022-2023. Per Capita Income has grown from 1.24 Lakh to 3.17 Lakh.

Chief Secretary stated that series of policies were initiated to bring governance closer to the people. New districts were created which has resulted in development of many growth centres in the state. Likewise new municipalities and corporations were formed to foster urban growth. Another path breaking initiative has been the Mission Bhagiratha scheme which has not only mitigated drinking water problem but also helped in solving many health related issues. The state is among the top performing states in various parameters in health sector.

Chief Secretary noted that the Haritha Haaram programme which is the brainchild of the Chief Minister has helped in 7.7 percent increase in green cover both in rural and urban areas. Around 270 crore trees have been planted across the state. Members of the delegation observed that rapid progress of the state is possible because of a strong and visionary leadership. They complimented the various initiatives of the state government particularly empowering people at the grassroot level through proactive schemes as well as harnessing technology through T Hub and other such initiatives.
