In a tragic accident  in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh state minister Narayana’s son Nishit Narayana has died in a deadly road mishap near Jubilee Hills Road no:36 around 3:30 AM this morning. Over speeding is reported to be the main cause for the accident. Telangana Minister Harish Rao rushed to the hospital and is looking into the incident.

Narayana has a son and daughter. His daughter is married to another Minister Ghanta Srinivas Raos on who is a film hero. The boy who died in the accident is the only son for Narayana.

Nishit and his friend Raja Ravi Chandra were traveling in a Mercedes Benz car (TS07 SK 7117). They were driving at over- speed of more than 100 kmph and hit the metro rail pillar while wanting to take a turn.

The people  heard deafening sound from the accident spot. The intensity of the incident was so high that the car was totally wrecked and even the safety balloons,  enabled, couldn’t help him. The judgement error on taking a turn and the over speeding killed Narayanas son on the spot.

Nishit and his friend were immediately rushed to nearby Apollo hospital by GHMC officials but both of them could not survive. After knowing the sad news, Nishit’s father- AP Muncipal minister Narayana, who is currently in London tour, is rushing back to India.

Early this year, Nishit had taken over as the director post in Narayana group of institutions.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhara Rao and several others expressed shock and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

The unseasonal rain, coupled with thunder and hailstorm, wreaked havoc across the city and brought traffic to a standstill as people struggled to wade through knee and waist-deep water in several areas.

Hailstones as big as cricket balls caused extensive damage to vehicles and glass panes of several houses. Gales with a speed reaching up to 100 km per hour uprooted trees and electric poles at many parts of the city. Several billboards and flexes were torn apart.

The upscale areas of Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, Yousufguda, Khairatabad, Begumpet and Secunderabad, were marooned. Trees and electric poles were uprooted at several places. Power supply was stopped in several areas for hours. As a precautionary measure, electrical lines were deactivated in many places.

There were reports of vehicles getting stranded on roads for hours together. On Raj Bhavan road, a truck overturned causing injuries to one person. There were no reports of any other casualties from any parts of the city.

An electric pole collapsed on the Taj Krishna road at Erramanzil, electric wires snapped at GTS Colony near TS Genco Office, and several trees fell on major roads.

In the old city, heavy rain resulted in disruption of power in Saidabad, Madannapet , Yakutpura areas.

Municipal administration and urban development minister KT Rama Rao directed Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to deploy emergency teams in different areas across the city. He also appealed to people to call 100 or 040-2111-1111 in emergency.

According to Met department sources, the reason for the rain was a trough extending from the North Vidarbha region in Maharashtra to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema. The weather conditions will continue for another 48 hours.
