Small movies are giving big competition to big stars and big budget films. Budget is no attraction these days. The viewers are lapping up good movies and new directors with fresh movies. Nani is one actor who is making it big in Tollywood. He has become an actor with guarantee and paisa vasool for the average cine goer.
Nani’s Nenu Local which was to release in December has been pushed to February thus marking a box-office clash with Venkatesh and Nagarjuna who have their highly anticipated films for release in the same time frame.
While Nenu Local is ready, the film’s producer Dil Raju has apparently decided to release the film in February owing to the fact that his other production venture Shatamanam Bhavathi releases in January for Sankranthi and he decided to space out both the films.
Nagarjuna’s Om Namo Venkatesaya and Venaktesh’s Guru are likely to release in the end of January and early February making all the three films release within a gap of around two weeks. It is to be seen who survives in the competition.
But the small movies made with a limited budget and completed in short period are paying rich dividends to the industry. Now a good movie is a good movie and no one talks about the budget. Budget is not the criteria and story line is being considered as the hero for any movie.
