Namitha the daughter of Vajpayee lit the funeral pyre. Earlier the armed forces Jawans have her tricolour which was wrapped on the former Prime Ministers body. Three colours of armed forces gave the gun salute when the pyre was lit.
Prime Minister Modi and President Kovind were seated along with the other dignitaries and diplomats apart from the union Ministers and others at the Smrithi Sthal near the banks of Yamuna. It is called as the Yamuna ghat.
Before this, all the dignatories paid rich tributes to the departed soul.
