The State Government under the dynamic leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao is contemplating to hold elections to the Municipality soon. The work on the New Municipal act is going on. The idea is to hold direct elections to the Mayor and also other posts.
The present term of the municipalities is nearing completion by this month end. Once the new Municipal act gets, ready and approved, the Government will announce the elections to the municipalities.
After the elections to the Assembly and the Parliament, there were elections to the ZPTCs ad the MPTCs. The TRS has won all the elections in a befitting manner and with a good majority.
Taking this upbeat mood of the people into account now the TRS Government is getting ready for the elections to the Municipalities.
Now that there is no opposition practically in the state and that more than a dozen Congress members have joined the TRS, the Government thinks that they would win the elections in a one-way manner. The war becomes one-sided now.
The TRS working President has already alerted the key functionaries of the party on the Elections to the Municipalities. The cadre is already getting ready for the same.
With some key functionaries of the Congress joining the TRS, there is practically no opposition in the state.
The BJP has lost miserably in the local body elections. So it is advantage TRS.
