Mukesh Ambani has got another 5 years to continue as the CMD of the Reliance industries. The shareholders of the company approved the same. The 61-year-old has been on board of the RIL since 1977 and has taken over as the Chairman after the death of his father. His father died in July 2002.
The company has put a resolution to re-appoint Ambani for a period of 5 years. Out of the votes polled for resolution, 98.5 per cent were in favour of Ambani for a term of another 5 years. Only about 1.48 per cent is against him.
Mukesh Ambai will be paid an annual salary of 4.17 crore and Rs59 lakh for perquisites and other allowances. Retirement benefits are not included in the remuneration.
The shareholders have authorised the board to raise about Rs 20000 crore for the year 2018-2019. Earlier after the death of Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh was Chairman and Anil was Vice-Chairman of the company. later they parted their ways, while Mukesh is doing well in business, Anil is not doing that well.
