The Delhi Liquor Scam which is creating ripples in National and Telugu politics is becoming even more intense. YSR Congress MP Magunta Sreenivasula Reddy’s son Raghava Reddy who was under the radar of the CBI was arrested.
The investigating agency has summoned Raghava Reddy to its Delhi headquarters and has questioned him in connection to the case. There are rumors that he was one of the active persons in the scam as well.
Magunta’s family was in the liquor business for several decades. Last month, ED raided the houses of the YSRCP MP in Delhi, Chennai, and Nellore.
It is interesting to note that a few weeks ago Magunta announced that he will not contest in the upcoming election and that his son will contest. Since AAP Government in Delhi is also involved in the scam, Modi Government is taking it very seriously.
If the MP’s son is arrested, it will be a big political headache for the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. Magunta Srinivas the MP earlier made a press statement that they were not involved in the deal and that a North Lobby was behind these plans.
Earlier a Chartered accountant was arrested for involvement with the South Group. He was the CA for MLC Kavitha the daughter of KCR the CM of Telangana.
This is the fourth arrest made in connection with the liquor scam. There is a talk that Kejriwal the Delhi CM was behind the scam.
