More light and less noise is the slogan for this Diwali. Green Diwali is also another slogan which is in circulation. Not only this, people are suggesting Mud diyas so that the potters would get some money for the Diwali.
The idea is to use more eco-friendly lamps and then reduce crackers to the maximum extent possible. The crackers result in big sounds with noise pollution and also environment pollution.
People are being advised not to take the Chinese plastic diyas. NGOs are suggesting people take Mud diyas and light them up with oil. in Hyderabad, the police have banned the Chinese crackers in shops.
There is a huge market for fancy lights also. Some of them are preferring electric lights and there are people who are sticking other traditional mud diyas also.
But the crackers this time are costly and not that affordable to the common man. Today is Dhanteras followed by Naraka Chaturdasi and then comes Diwali. The sweets and the dry fruits markets are also doing good business on account of Diwali. But for the RTC employees, it is a dark Diwali. They were on strike during Dasara also.
The Diwali is on Sunday and it will be a released one. Some of the employees have opted for a holiday on Monday to relax after the Sunday Diwali. The sweets and the crackers are costly this year.
The sellers are making a fast buck on the sales of Ganesh and Lakhsmi idols used for the pooja on Dhanteras. The rain is playing the spoilsport for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
The cracker sellers in AP are in for trouble due to rain predicted in the coming two days.
