Moorkulu -I Love you Nanna for the Road safety awards

The third in the series Short Film Contest on Road Safety received an enormous response throughout Telangana and other states.

Various themes were depicted on the ills of careless attitude on roads, drunken driving, No Helmets, Jaywalking etc.

The contest which is a half-yearly affair was the fourth in the series. It had the theme “Road Safety”. The contest attracted 67 entries, mostly comprised of students, youth, employees, families.

Keshav Kumar for his film ‘Moorkulu’, Nitish Singh’s ‘Example’ and S.Vikram Kumar’s ‘I love you Nanna’ were adjudged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd category prizes.

The prize money was valued at 50,000/-, 30,000/- and 20,000/- respectively. 10 participants were given Consolation prizes and the rest of the participants were awarded participation certificates.

The response to the contest, the second in the series was very good and the creative standards were on par with the best said Police Commissioner Mr. Stephen Raveendra, IPS., He motivated the participants to bring out more such themes including ones on Cyber Safety.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vijay Kumar, DCP Traffic, Cyberabad said that 80% of road accidents happen due to human error. 1,50,000 die in road accidents.

Mr. Krishna Yedula, Secretary of SCSC said road safety is not just the responsibility of any one set of people, organization or department. It is the combined responsibility of every one. SCSC has been working on various initiatives for the past 15 years, he said. The contest is an excellent platform to promote the cause creatively, generate more awareness. The story telling through short video films will have greater impact he said.
