Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited the Sai Baba Temple while a lot of hue and cry is going on at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. Modi paid respects to Sai baba and later distributed the houses to the people under PMs awas Yojana.
He said that while the last government has built a house in lakhs for the poor, the BJP has built houses in crores for the poor and the needy. He said that the idea of the Government was to build houses to all by the year 2022.
He also laid foundation stones for the development works at the temple under the Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan. He also took part in rituals at the Saibaba Samadhi.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis accompanied the Prime Minister at the Shirdi temple complex. The PM Modi opined that having a permanent house will reduce half the poverty and make the people self-reliant.
