Prime Minister Modi today launched the Kisan Samman Nidhi for the welfare of the poor farmers. The farmers will get Rs 6000 each as financial help towards the crop. This is for the poor and marginal farmers who have land under 2 hectares. But when compared to the scheme being implemented by the KCR Government in Telangana it is nothing. The Telangana Government is giving Rs 10000 per acre for the farmer. Modi will be giving the Rs 6000 in three instalments in a year.
The amount will go directly into the farmers account under the (DBT) that is direct benefit transfer. Some the state Governments appreciated the gesture of the state government towards the farmers, but they opined that when compared to the TRS Government this Rs 6000 is nothing. They wanted a scheme like KCR to be implemented where all the farmers get the benefit.
Kavitha the TRS MP from Nizamabad also chided that Modi could not copy the TRS farmers scheme properly. She also opined that just Rs 6000 will be of no use. After launching the Kisan Samman Nidhi the PM Modi gave away the certificates and also interacted with some of the farmers.
