Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated the new building of Rashtriya Raksha University- RRU Gandhinagar to the nation today by unveiling a plaque. The new campus building complex of Rashtriya Raksha University- an institution of national importance is situated at Lavad village near Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Modi who is on a two-day tour to Gujarat is also participating in the first convocation ceremony of the Rashtriya Raksha University- RRU Gandhinagar as a Chief Guest. He also delivered the convocation address on this occasion. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah delivered a presidential address on this occasion.
Earlier before reaching Rashtriya Raksha University, Prime Minister Modi had held a roadshow from Rajbhavan Gandhinagar. Large number of people and party workers from rural areas enthusiastically welcomed Modi with flowers and garlands. He was standing in an open top Mahindra Jeep waving to the crowds on the way to the Univerity.
Rashtriya Raksha University- an institution of National Importance is established by the Indian Parliament Act. The University aims to become an academic-research-training ecosystem for national security and police.
A total 1090 students will receive their degrees; out of which, 13 students will get their honorary doctorate degrees, as well as 38 students, will be awarded Gold Medal.
In the evening, Modi will inaugurate ‘Khel Mahakumbh’ a state-level sports programme at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. He will also launch a new sports policy of the Gujarat government on this occasion.
