MIM MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi, Ahmed Balala and Ahmed Paasha Quadri met the Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar at the secretariat today and discussed issues relating to Laad Bazaar improvement and Pedestrian Bridge.
Mr Arvind Kumar instructed the officials to expedite the works relating to the laad Bazaar façade improvement. He asked the officials to organize a tour to Amritsar for the stakeholders so that they can have a first-hand knowledge of the improvements taken up there.
Laad Nazar is the popular place where bangles are sold and people from acoss the world visit this bazaar for shopping bangles apart from Charminar.
The bangles bazaar is as popular as Charminar. He directed the officials to provide accessibility for the free flow of tourists as it is getting affected due to the ongoing works around the historic Charminar.
Mr Kumar informed that the iconic pedestrian bridge is being built to accommodate around thousand hawkers who have been relocated from the Charminar area as part of the Charminar Pedestrian Project.
He also asked the officials to take up construction of a new bridge between Naya pul and Purana pul to accommodate the fruit vendors.
GHMC Additional Commissioner Musharraf, HRDCL Chief Engineer Mohan Naik, Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran and other officials attended the meeting.
