Legendary athlete Milkha Singh, on whose life Bollywood movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was made, will have his wax statue at Madame Tussauds’ museum in New Delhi.
Milkha will be among 50 personalities from various walks of life whose wax figures will be displayed in New Delhi museum, which will be the 24th museum of the world famous London-based Madame Tussauds.
The New Delhi museum is scheduled to open on December 1, 2017. It will be located on the first and second floors of the famous Regal Cinema building in Connaught Place.
Milkha, who became the country’s first athlete to win gold at the Commonwealth Games in 1958 Cardiff, unveiled his wax likeness on Tuesday at a ceremony in Chandigarh. The quarter-miler missed the 1960 Rome Olympic medal by a whisker and finished fourth.
