Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao today assured the members in the Assembly that the Government would complete the Metro Rail works in the old city at the earliest possible.
He was answering the questions raised by BJP leader Kishan Reddy and MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.
The Minister agreed that there was some delay in the execution of works in the old city due to some religious places. But now the Metro is coming in the elevated format and that no construction will be affected.
The Minister added that finally, all the three corridors in the city would lead to the Shamshabad Airport. The Old city is also being developed in such a fashion that it will be on par with the other parts of the city.
Answering to question raised by MLA Srinivas Goud, the Minister said that more parking lots are being provided in the city to avoid congestion and see that there would be no gridlock anywhere.
He also suggested that the citizens must come forward and provide lands for the parking lots and that they would be given suitable rent for the same.
