Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy paid last respects to senior Congress leader D Srinivas (popularly known as DS) in Nizamabad.
As PCC chief, DS worked hard for Congress to come to power in 2004 Assembly elections. Under DS leadership , Congress came to power in 2009 elections again.
Srinivas began political career as a student leader and carved a niche for himself by ascending top level in the Congress.
Even though DS stayed away from the party for a while, Sonia Gandhi used to greet the senior leader warmly in parliament.
DS always said he never had hopes for positions. His wish to drape the Congress flag over him when he dies is fulfilled. All Important leaders paid homage to the departed leader.
Congress will stand by DS family.
We will discuss with the family members and decide to take up some work in memory of Srinivas.
The passing away of senior Congress leader is a huge loss for the party.
