Country’s largest private-sector rail coach factory coming up in Telangana. Medha Rail Coach Factory is being set up with an investment of Rs.1000 crores creating 2200 employment opportunities (1000 direct and 1200 indirect) in the region.
IT and Industries Ministers KTR participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of Medha Rail Coach Factory in Kondakal village, Shankarpally, Rangareddy District.
Ministers Harish Rao and Sabitha Indra Reddy were also present in the program.Medha Servo Drives Pvt. Ltd designs & manufactures various world-class high-tech electronics products for application on locomotives, trainsets, coaches, railway stations & yards, making it the largest propulsion equipment supplier to Indian Railways.
The facility will have a capacity of manufacturing coaches, locomotives, intercity trainsets, metro trains, monorail, etc. Production capacity is planned for 500 coaches (of various types) and 50 locomotives per year.
Speaking at the event, Minister KTR said that the Government of Telangana’s proactive approach and conducive policies encouraged Medha Group to establish its world-class rail coach factory in the state.
The Minister said that Medha is India’s largest private-sector Rail Coach Factory, which is expected to create an ecosystem for rail coach manufacturing in Telangana.
Minister KTR said that Telangana has units that manufacture buses, tractors, parts of aircraft, and helicopters. And with Medha setting up their rail coach factory, we can proudly say that Telangana also houses a factory which manufactures train coaches.
Medha Group MD Kasyap Reddy, MPs Ranjith Reddy, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, MLAs Kale Yadaiah, Methuku Anand, MLCs Patnam Mahender Reddy, Bhupal Reddy, IT and Industries Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TSIIC VC&MD Narasimha Reddy, and TSIIC Chairman Balamallu also participated in the program.
