The statements made by women journalists against the former editor MJ Akbar as part of Me Too campaign have put the NDA Government led by Narendra Modi in trouble. The lady journalists have posted that MJ Akbar as an Editor called them to his bedroom in hotels in the name of the interviews and harassed them. The women also said that he made sexual advances against them and one of them had to leave the job because of his inappropriate behaviour.
Now Akbar is on a tour as the Minister of state for external affairs. It is leant that Akbar could be sacked. Prime Minister Modi has a meeting to this effect with his team and thought it fit to sack Akbar. Many opined that if such person is a Minister, who would protect the ladies in the society. What justice can the Government do?
More than half a dozen women alleged that Akbar made sexual advances against them in the name of giving job . People who worked under him faced trouble with him and some of them left the job.
Jaipal Reddy the Congress leader from Telangana demanded that Akbar should be sacked and that he does not deserve to be Minister any more. Akbar, on the other hand, is yet to respond to the allegations made by the lady journalists. Akbar in no way cannot wriggle out of the allegations as 7 of them have confirmed about his bad behaviour.
