Massive flood, Avalanche in Uttarakhand-150 feared dead?

All the districts along the river of Gana were kept on high alert as there were floods and Avalahce in Uttrakhand. Around 150 casualities are reported but not confirmed.

NDRF teams are being airlifted from Delhi for the rescue operations in Uttarakhand. PM Modi and Home Minister Shah spoke to CM of Uttrakhand and assured of all the help for the rescue operations.

The possible avalanche was reported due to break of Glaciers and it might reach Haridwar. The Avalanche occurred in Chamoli district. The CM Rawat has taken an ariel survey of the area.

Around 200 Army Jawans are working for the rescue operations. Around 1000 people were shifted from the area around the flow of Ganga river.

Kanpur, Bijnor, Varanasi are kept on High Alert.

The flow of Bagirathy river has been stopped as a precautionary measure. 35 villages have been affected. The Rishiganga power project has been damaged. 50 people working at the power project are reported missing.

The glacier burst is the reason for the rise in water levels and floods.
