Maoists with Covid will get treatment assures Police

Maoist top leadership was committing human rights violations by preventing the party leaders and members who were keen on leaving the party. With Haribhushan’s death, the Maoists have lost their presence in Telangana, the Police said.

“We appeal to the Naxals who are suffering from Covid to surrender to the police and seek better treatment. Police department will take responsibility to extend all possible help from the government to surrendered naxals,” Sunil Dutt the SP stated.

On the other hand, the CPI (Maoist) party has confirmed the death of Telangana State Committee secretary and the Party Central Committee member, Yapa Narayana alias Haribhushan and Indravati Area Committee member Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka.

In a statement released by the Maoist State Committee to the media here, the party stated that they both suffered from Covid-19.

Haribhushan, who also suffered from asthma and bronchitis, died on June 21 while Bharatakka died the next day and their last rites were conducted in the presence of people and a meeting in their memory was held on June 22, the statement said.

The police also got information that Maoist leaders Kookati Venkanna, Sharada, Sonu, Vinod, Nandu, Iduma, Deve, Mula Devender Reddy, Damodar and Bhadru, were suffering from Covid and other health problems, Dutt stated.
