it looks like Maniratnam the ace director who makes class films is losing his touch. These days like Puri and RGV, he is unable to guage the mind of audience. He has lost Cheliya and now he is ready with Nawab. Nawab has Aravind Swamy his Roja hero.
AR Rehman the favourite of Maniratnam scores the music. Cehliya music was a hit, but the film failed and our DilRaju lost the momey in that film. From that time Dil has been facing ups and downs.
Maniratnam is an MBA and he knows how to package the film on commercial terms. But these days audidence are rejecting him. Most of the directors look upto Mani for his talent. But now he is being rejected at the box office.
If Nawab does not appeal to the audinece then Mani can take rest for some time and try out other thigns like producing films. His wife Suhasini is also a good technician and artist. Mani is related to Kamalhasan and the movie Nayakan in their combination is still remembered.
He did Geetanjali for Nagarjuna which was a block buster. Nawab is coming on 28th September in Telugu. Mani is pinning his hopes on Nawab so that he can come out with his other movies in the near future. But getting the pulse of Telugu audience right is a difficult matter. Even the movie Moghul Ramanaidu could not get it right.
