Governance means making people happy by fulfilling their aspirations and resolving the issues confronting them in their day-to-day life, said the Governor, ESL Narasimhan, here today.
Addressing the Group-1 officers at a valedictory function got up at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resources Development (MCRHRD) Institute in Hyderabad, Narasimhan called upon the officers to first develop empathy with the people and be sympathise with those who come to them with their problems.
“Governance means making people happy and service should be your motto. Your are first the servants of people and only then you are officers,” he said.
The Governor wanted the trainee officers to excel themselves in the duties assigned to them and rise as a role models to the future officers. Remember that, the future of the State of Telangana which is just five-year-old is in their hands.
Earlier, the Governor released a copy of “Savvadi” a Journal, brought out by the House Journal Society.
At another function got up on the same campus, the Governor released a book ‘Fragrant Words’ penned by senior IAS officer Ms Rajani Sekhari Sibal, who is Secretary (Fisheries), Government of India, New Delhi. Though she is in Central services, but wanted the book to be released in Hyderabad as she feels that the people here are literary-friendly.
Director General of the MCRHRD Mr B.P. Acharya and Prl. Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr S. Narsing Rao are among those who were present at the function.
