Finally, Magunata Raghava the son of Liquor Baron and YSRC MP Srinivasulu Reddy was given an interim bail by the Delhi Court. The court earlier denied bail to Raghava.
Raghava was given conditional bail.
As Sharat Chandra Reddy has turned approver in the case, Raghava has been granted bail by the court they say.
Raghava was also related, directly or indirectly, to the activities relating to possession, use and projection etc of the said proceeds of crime as untainted money as he was a “key member of the above cartel formed by the accused persons to achieve the illegal objectives of the said conspiracy”, the court had said.
Magunta was arrested in February under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED has alleged that he was involved in various activities of possession, use, transfer, etc. of the proceeds of crime worth at least Rs 180 crore.
According to the ED’s charge sheet, a part of the alleged Rs 100 crore kickback generated in the crime was used in the Goa Assembly election campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The ED case was based on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’s FIR. There is talk that the BJP is trying to fix the AAP top guns in this case.
As Sharat Chandra has turned approver now Kavitha the daughter of KCR is also out of the dragnet of CBI they say.
But Manish Sisodia could not get the bail as wanted to take care of his wife in the hospital.
