Music maestro AR Rahman who started his career with Roja is 50th today. But Rahman told some news men that he is not yet 50. A few of them reported that he is 49.
The great musician has two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, four National Film Awards, 15 Filmfare Awards, a Golden Globe and 13 Filmfare Awards South to his credit. He is in the Oscar race again this year for Pele: Birth of a Legend.
Rahman has composed music for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malyalam, Kannada and English movies.
Popuar director Mani Ratnam gave him the break and there was no looking back.
Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman said he feels lucky that he’s not yet crossed the half century in age, and has thanked his well-wishers for prayers and affection.
Rahman, whose tunes are known nationally and internationally, took to Facebook to pen a post for his legions of fans.
“To my dearest friends, fans, family and well-wishers… Thank you for your kind birthday wishes, prayers and affection. You inspire me to work harder and make even more beautiful music. Luckily I am not yet 50,” Rahman posted on his page, which has received about 21,764,666 ‘total page likes’.
