Queen of pop Madonna is set to receive Billboard’s 2016 ‘Woman of the Year’ award. The 58-year-old singing diva will be feted at the 11th annual Billboard Women in Music event, on December 9 in New York City, reported Billboard.
“Madonna is one of a minuscule number of super-artists whose influence and career transcend music. With her creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to philanthropic causes, she is an inspiration to hundreds of millions of people around the world, all while shattering every career record out there.”
“She is an important feminist on top of that, a one-of-a-kind artist who’s used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality and equal rights,” said Janice Min, President and Chief Creative Officer of The Hollywood Reporter Billboard Media Group.
Madonna has been a constant force in pop culture and source of cultural conversation over the past year, with political Met Gala appearance and her indelible commentary on the 2016 election, being a few of them.
Madonna is usually the trend setter, but it seems the star has followed in Katy Perry’s footsteps by getting NAKED to support Hillary Clinton. She used her body for click-bait as she posed with her boobs out on Instragram, but decided not to free her nipples as she angled the camera towards her face.
The pop icon posted the pic on her account morning, showing her wearing a collection of necklaces and a shiny grill on her teeth.
Madge let her blonde hair fall down in messy waves and appeared to have gone makeup free for the surprise snap, encouraging people to vote.
She captioned it: “‘Im voting naked with Katy Perry!! Vote for Hillary. She’s the Best we got! Nude Voting series # 1 (sic)”The snap pulled in hundreds of thousands of views, but the star later decided to DELETE it once it had served it’s purpose.
