Telangana Association of United Kingdom (TAUK) conducted “London Bonalu Celebrations” on a grand scale.Event was held at Isleworth and Syon School auditorium in west London.About 8,00 NRIs from Telangana living in various parts of UK attended the event for which West London wore a festive look.

Chief Guests & artists for this event were Telangana State Special Representative in Delhi Tejavath Ramchandru, First Secretary to Indian High commissioner Vijay Vasanta, Hounslow Deputy Mayor Mukesh Malhotra and Telangana famous artist “Bithirri Satti”.

The NRIs recreated the ambience of Lashkar in Secunderabad where Bonalu is celebrated fervently every year.Main attraction during this celebration were women carrying the Bonam and participated in the big procession across the London streets, everyone were enjoying and especially the local britishers too involved in the procession.

Tejavath Ramachandru said, he felt very happy to be part of this grand celebration of Telangana state festival Bonalu along with his family members. He appreciated TNRIs role during the Telangana movement and promoting Telangana culture on foreign land. Telangana government always ready to support Telanganites wherever they are and in case of any future support or advise he said he is ready to extend and available.

Indian High commissioner to UK First secretary Mr. Vijay Vasatna said, Telangana community in UK is very enthusiastic and energetic in organising the social events and especially supporting all the activities initiated by IHC. He appreciated Telangana Association of United Kingdom(TAUK) for involving in many cultural and welfare activities to support the community in UK and back home Telangana.

TAUK President Mrs. Pavitra Kandi said, our organisation is committed to promote the Telangana culture on global platform and thanked Nizamabad MP Smt. Kalkvakuntla Kavitha for her guidance and support in organising the activities, also thanked all those attended and supported in making the event grand success. Later she briefed the organisation objectives to the audience and invited the interested memebers to join with us to make difference to community.

TAUK Founder & NRI TRS CELL President Mr. Anil Kurmcahalam said, since 7 years I was actively participating in organising Bonalu celebrations and everytime the support is very inspiring from the local community and local officials, he thanked local authority for allowing us to celebrate and promote our culture. He thanked Tejavath Ramachandru, Vijay vasatna,Mukesh Malhotra and Bithri satti for attending the event and supporting us.

He appealed everyone to #Supportweavers and took an oath by making a slogans and displaying a big banner in the event hall stating “We support weavers”, also said we will always supporting Minister KTR in this mission to support the weavers.

Mrs. Supraja Pulusu hosted the event and key organisers were Ashok Kumar Dusari, Naveen reddy, Rathnakar kadudula, Vikram Reddy Rekula, Gopal Mekala, Seru Sanjay.
